Welcome Tahli!
Tahli has joined the growing Trusted Care Team as a second Services Manager, working alongside Kristy and Katrina.
With a wealth of experience and a life-long connection to the sector, we know that Tahli will be a much-valued addition to the team for our clients and Support Workers alike.
Tahli’s primary school has a unique Special Development School attached and she would often spend her lunch time at the centre talking to the students and getting to understand firsthand about the challenges they faced. It wasn’t long before a very close family friend who worked at a Respite Centre invited her to join them as part of an excursion program.
“I would go and support them in the kitchen for the day, helping them make sandwiches, serving customers and help the participants manage money using the cash register, “she said.
It wasn’t long before Tahli was employed as a Support Worker and her passion for the sector saw her progress to a Program and then Service Facilitator. In this role of Team Leader, she was supporting clients to live independently and safely in their homes. I supported approximately 20 clients and 40 staff members. Tahli enjoyed training staff across local inductions, code of conduct, professional boundaries, transport training, manual handling training and financial management, and was often called upon to act as Manager.
As a new organisation, which returns all profits to Cystic Fibrosis Queensland, the opportunity to grow a business and her own skills at the same time really appealed to her, “I particularly like how the Trusted Care model is to not only support people with disabilities, but has been created to help support people living with cystic fibrosis, “ she said, “Especially those who are not eligible for the NDIS”.
Tahli loves that every day, every client is different and at Trusted Care, she can ensure that people are supported to live in their own homes, safely, happy, and healthy for as long as possible. “It is very important to me,” said Tahli.
In her spare time Tahli enjoys Pilates, walking her dog – seeing him play with other dogs at the dog beach is so cute – spending time with friends and family. Tahli also likes to try different food, so finding new restaurants is something she and her partner and really enjoy!
“I am also starting indoor netball which I have not played for years, so that should be interesting, “she said.
